ksu excellence in actionIntegrated Social Studies

Greetings to all,

Another fall is well under way and our graduate class Issue and Trends in Social Studies Education (C&I 6/71125) has been contemplating the purpsoe of social studies and the role of social studies in citizenship education. Our undergraduates who are in their final year and our MATs are beginning to teach or co-teach during their practicum time while a whole new group of INSS students are getting ready for going into the field for Principles. Our newest social studies education faculty members, Dr. Todd Hawley at Kent and Dr. Mary Pat Raupach at Stark, are settling in and getting to know the wonderful students of KSU.

For those of you who are not in one of the programs already, we have many levels of programs in social studies education to fit your needs. For those of you currently teaching who want to focus some time on great conversations and readings in social studies education, please remember we have some great social studies education courses this coming year.

Enjoy the fall.

Dr. Crowe
